The rituals and practices at our retreat center are a space for slowing down, consciously getting in touch with yourself, and fine tuning into the group's state of being.
We offer ceremonies based on ancient traditions and culture of careful interaction with natural plants and power drinks. All practices can be included in the retreat program and combined with other formats of work - bodily, breathing, meditative.
Ceremonial cacao is a specialty beverage and an ancient plant of strength that humanity has interacted with for centuries.
We use ceremonial cacao from Ecuador and Peru that has retained its natural richness and depth.
Cacao ceremonies are created as a space of familiarity with this beverage, with its gentle effect on the body and emotional state. It is a practice about warmth, openness, connecting with the senses and being mindfully present in the moment.
During the cooler seasons, the ceremony can take place in a cozy fireplace area, or during the warm season, in an outdoor fire pit space.
Cocoa Ceremony can be a stand-alone practice or can take place in conjunction with meditation, breathing, body practices, live sound or a quiet circle of community.
The tea ceremony is the art of attention, flavor, and silence.
At Flow, we offer an extensive collection of select teas that we bring from China and customize for different formats of tea ceremonies.
Each ceremony is an opportunity to slow down, tune into subtle sensations, and feel the depth of flavor and state. The format is tailored to the task of the retreat: from meditative and contemplative to more lively, dialogical and unifying.
Tea practice can be either chamber and deep or part of a group ritual that supports the overall dynamic of the retreat.
Equipment:
The tea area is equipped with everything you need for tea ceremonies and individual tea parties:
The Rapé ceremony is a traditional practice of the indigenous peoples of the Amazon with a ritual and sacred character. Rapé is a finely ground mixture of Mapacho, ceremonial fire ashes and other sacred plants.
Works on three levels at once:
- clears the respiratory tract,
- stops the inner dialog and brings back clarity of mind,
- connects with the Healing Spirit and opens the gateway to another dimension of consciousness.
This practice can be incorporated into a retreat program as an element of deep inner attunement, mindfulness and presence work. The ceremony is done consciously, in small groups or individually, and always remains a voluntary choice of the participant.
Rituals and practices are selected based on the retreat format, group composition, and overall intent of the program. Details of possible combinations, formats and conditions of participation are available upon request when planning a retreat.
